“Which America? “We are here to do the the American people want

The constant Republican refrain “We are doing what “the American people want?” So why aren’t we demanding more? We as a people are are getting precious little from our elected representatives in D.C. and in state houses all over America. What we are getting is nothing, in fact, but a war against the poor, middle class, minorities, women, the disabled and other non-advantaged people (often the same). It hurts my heart to watch this transparent political gamesmanship versus actual governing for “the people.” Shame on us. We are the “people” after all. No one said that being an engaged and responsible citizen was easy. One of those tasks is letting those who ostensibly represent us know that other people exist besides those who vote for them and potentially will.   It’s America. Speak up.
