#BlackHistory If you think you know all there is to know about the “Black church,”—think again. I know it has opened my eyes to an understanding and acceptance of knowing what I don’t know. It has challenged what I thought I knew—especially about the early evolution of the institution and its leadership.
Hearing and seeing Black scholars illuminate this history is inspiring. It is not a linear, single-story and certainly not disconnected from daily, civic, social and political realities. It is worth the investment of time. It is eye-opening, enlightening and thought-provoking.
